lisa gherardini, post-leucotomy

smiling placidly, she gazes
at the man behind the
screen, holding
something which
he occasionally
drags along
a serrated
surface

clasping her arm, she is
bathed in warmth
as she sees
a shadow standing
beside the man,
who glances
at her with his
furrowed eyes

staring with eyes agleam, she notices
the shadow talking to
the man fervidly
yet he brushes the apparition off
with a gentle smile
somehow she feels
comforted and content
in this musty quarters.

somewhere, a single rose
plummets from the sky

hora incensi

red moon
above scarlet clouds
dyed by the fading
sunset
ready to be
embraced
by the casket
of night
overcome by
the lassitude
borne by slumber
a pale morn
awaits.

Pursuit

The road may be steep
But the will is
Unyielding
The climb is swift
But tenuous

Convergence

small shadows dance in the dark
tracing the trajectories
of falling stars

against the gloomiest wind
amidst the fiercest chaos
can the gryphons take flight?

Scintilla

adrift on a river of memories
empty smiles on our faces
because now is only now

in a tiny garden
at the end of the ends
our hearts awaken
