Surely we can walk fast enough
Surely we can walk far enough
Enough to bring us together in time
Enough to see you one more time
For a walk at solstice’s tide.
In my cavity of a pocket
A solitary coin revels in its forsakenness
Threatening to lose itself in the caverns
Along the trail to solstice’s tide.
Moons wax and wane
The eternal changing of heaven’s guard
Ruminating between wave breaks
For a walk beyond solstice’s tide.
A sudden drizzle pours forth
Filling the breach
Of our ardor.
Unsubtle pebbles
Flung by feet on clouds
Knocking pedestals
Laying the epilogue
To our tryst.
We seek the highlands
To elude the torrents
And stifle the clamor within.
The water rises
And we are engulfed
By the tides of reverie.
